Laser assisted Lypolysis is a new, minimally invasive technology that liquefies fat for easy removal and state of the art body sculpting. It is a laser-based procedure that breaks up and removes fat cells for shaping and contouring of areas such as under the chin, neck and jowls or areas with loose skin such as the arms, as well as larger areas such as the abdomen and thighs. In addition, the unique wavelength of the Sciton Joule Fiber Laser system directly contracts collagen and tightens the overlying skin from the inside out, and effect not seen with standard liposuction.
Dr. Samadani at the Beaver Dam Cosmetic Clinic performs the Laser Lipolysis treatment. You are awake during the entire procedure. The treatment area is numbed using tumescent anesthesia and a small cannula (wand-like apparatus which contains the laser fiber) is inserted into a punch incision through the skin. The physician maneuvers the cannula/laser fiber within the treatment area making contact with the fat under the skin. The laser energy disrupts and liquefies the fat that is simultaneously removed by the micro-cannula. After the procedure, a drain and a pad are applied to the small incision(s) and the treated area is wrapped with a compression bandage or garment. Dr. Samadani will provide instructions regarding activity level and direction as to when you are able to remove the compression bandage or garment.
How long does the procedure take?
The length of the procedure depends on the area being treated with the average being one hour for an individual area. Normally there are 4 areas that are treated at the same time.
How long will it take for the treated area to heal?
The healing time frame depends on each patient’s procedure and individual healing abilities. The small incision should heal within days and depending on your situation you may have minimal, if any, bruising.
How long before I notice results?
You should see results within a week post-procedure and will also notice a continual improvement of skin texture and tightness in the treated area 2-6 months post procedure.
Can the Laser Lypolysis treatment be performed on my stomach, hips or other larger body areas?
Currently the Laser Lypolysis treatment is ideal for body contour, fatty problem areas such as the neck & chin area and arms. It improves the outcome of conventional liposuction in larger areas such as the abdomen and thighs.
Why should I choose Laser Lypolysis over other similar laser-assisted lipolysis laser procedures?
The Sciton Joule is unique laser fiber delivering two wavelengths that provide proven skin tightening and lifting benefits in addition to fat lipolysis. There is minimal risk of pigmentary changes using the latest Sciton Joule Laser equipment.
